I am gravitating more and more towards no-bake cakes these days and why not? They are quick, easy and every bit as delicious as their more complicated counterparts. They are a God-send when you have a special occasion coming up and the kids are running around, you are in the middle of a move, kitchen is a chaos, there are boxes all around but you being you, still want to make a statement and do something nice. 🙂 Hey, nothing wrong with wanting to make a statement, right? When and Where I come from, Mother ‘s day isn’t much heard of. Even though I don’t need a day to love my Mom and I love and respect my parents anyways but am sure glad that there is a day that celebrates Motherhood. God knows Moms need to be appreciated more! But seriously, in my opinion, every day can NOT be a Valentine’s day. Between bills to pay and kids to raise, race to lose weight and preparing early morning lunch-boxes, vacuuming the floors and cleaning color-painted walls, [Read on…]
Thanksgiving is celebrated to give thanks to the Lord for blessing us with a good harvest. I love the concept!!!! What a great way to be grateful and to teach your kids to appreciate food in a fun way. For me thanksgiving is not just about being thankful for ‘what‘ we have in our lives but also for ‘who’ we have in our lives. And believe me I have a lot to be thankful for!!! [Read on…]
I have such vivid memories of ‘Janmashtami’ that bring smile to my face every time I think of them. As kids, we would fast the entire day just because we loved copying our parents and it felt kind-of-cool. And then at midnight, we would jump on the delicious feast laid out in front of us (that my mum had spent the entire day preparing), like we hadn’t eaten in a month. Of course at that age, not much of our thoughts went into the reasoning behind the rituals. Now that I am older and not necessarily wiser, I don’t fast but celebrate Janmashtami with a different kind of vigor and enthusiasm. [Read on…]
