So last month was the first time in more than 10 years when I watched Indian cricket Team play against Pakistan and Australia and I have to admit, it was quite a revelation! In my lame defense, there wasn’t much to watch in between those years. Winning and losing is part of the game and I am not one of those who are waiting to hurl abuses on the poor souls the moment they lose or shower praises and sing anthems when they bring glory to the country but what does matters to me is the intent to win!
I remember ten years ago was quite a sad time. There wasn’t much of a passion to play or an intent to win. Those were the days when players would come on the field with drooping shoulders and heads bent down as if they had already assumed the worst or in the slightly better scenarios, handed over the responsibility of winning on one or two players in the team. I also remember a time when running between the wickets was a joke and we used to turn our television sets off the moment Tendulkar got out!!!
Fast forward to 2016, I was amazed to see a positive, passionate, focused and win-obsessed team where most players performed consistently well match after match, where each loss mattered and every player was held accountable for his actions and I remember thinking Oh Crap, what did I do? How in the world did I miss such an awesome transition. I should have taken my cue when India won the world cup in 2011 but I considered it an every-28-year-wonder and moved on. I know, I feel awful too 🙁
Anyways, so this time after an awesome performance in T20 World Cup, I celebrated with these droolicious Crunchy Nutella Cups. They are very quick to make, incredibly easy and require just 2 simple ingredients but they take your regular ice cream to another level altogether. They would look awesome in your kid’s birthday party too!! I would recommend a tangy ice cream to go with these sweet cups but really, it’s up to you. They taste mind-blowing anyways.
Ingredients
- 2 cup rice krispies
- 1 cup Nutella
- Ice cream of your choice (orange, lemon, strawberry, raspberry or blueberry)
- sprinkles and m&ms
Instructions
- In a bowl, add rice Krispies and Nutella and mix well.
- Line the muffin pan with cupcake liners (preferably silicon) and fill the liners with the mix in such a way that they look like a cup. Hands work best for this.
- Freeze the muffin pan in freezer for 1-2 hours.
- Peel off the cups from the liner.
- Fill them with ice cream of your choice and garnish with some m&m and sprinkles.
